If your straight trailer tongue takes up too much room in your garage or storage unit, this kit will help. Once installed, it lets your trailer fold back onto itself, freeing up to 6' of space.
When choosing the finish of your trailer parts, it's not a matter of which is better, but rather which is better for your application. You want protection, but you also want it to look good and hold up in the environments you're boating in. If you have a freshwater setup, black powder coating will give you a nice finish that will protect the parts from everyday wear, scratches, and chipping. If you have a saltwater setup or plan to boat in brackish water, you'll want to go with the galvanized steel. Galvanized steel is hot-dipped in zinc. The process bonds the zinc to the steel and gives it a layer of protection that protects against rust, even if it gets scratched.

Hi, everyone. Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at Swing King Bolt-On Swing Tongue Kit for three by five inch frames, and it's a galvanized finish. So folks, a bolt-on kit like this allows you to convert a regular tongue, a straight tongue, into a swing tongue by simply inserting a bolt here. You'd have a safety pin on the other side, but I just have it mocked up today right now for you. You would be able to take the whole coupler from that straight tongue, spin it all the way back upon itself, giving you lots of extra space whenever it hinges back on itself.
So again, your straight tongue coupler and everything would swing out of the way. So this is gonna give you extra space, maybe maximizing your storage space in the garage. Maybe it's too long for your garage, where if you put this on, you could potentially swing that extra, I don't know, three to six feet out of the way really, and give you space to park it in tighter spaces as well. And it does fit a three by five inch configuration. So that would go right over your straight tongue, right at the front of your trailer.
And everything here is a bolt-on kit. So you will have to drill some holes through your straight tongue there. All the necessary hardware, bolts, nuts are included. And again, everything's galvanized so you don't have to worry about rust, corrosion or anything like that. And again, this main bolt, I just have it kind of, you know, enough to make it work for the demo today.
But that would go all the way flush, obviously. Then you'd have the washers and nuts. And then this safety pin here with the lanyard would go right down this hole here. And that's what would keep it all locked open whenever you're actually pulling the trailer and everything. And then you simply pull that pin, and then once again, be able to pivot out of the way.
So very nice design, very neat design in my opinion. And it works great as far as using it for, like I said, space saving and everything. Quick dimension, end to end, pretty much 22 inches long, give or take a 16th or two. Keep in mind, you know these are dipped with galvanized, so yours could be a 16th of an inch different or whatever. As far as the width, the top part here is the widest, six inches across the top. And a height I'm pulling right here at the bottom, I'm not touching the tabletop 'cause I'm on blocks, and I'm right at about five and three quarter inches tall. And again, this fits a three inch wide by five inch tall straight tongue. Well folks, that's gonna wrap it up for our quick look together at the Swing Tongue Kit. I'm Steven. Thanks for watching.
